Orbit Online – your self-booking tool

Orbit Online powered by Amadeus is your “one-stop shop” for all your travel bookings.

Orbit Online lets you book your entire domestic, trans-Tasman and South Pacific travel requirements via a client login section on the site.

Orbit Online offers ‘real time’ availability of ALL travel suppliers, airline, hotel, motel, and rental car services. Airfares and hotel rates are exactly in line with supplier website levels, and where your company has specifically negotiated rates, these will display along with any promotional offers and ‘rates of the day’.

In short, Orbit Online gives you a totally unbiased and immediate view of availability and price. In such a highly dynamic environment, this impartiality is hugely important for clients to ensure you secure the best possible price and option at all times.

SNIFF – your E-ticket Tracker

Did you know that at any one time there are as many as $40 million of unused e-tickets in the New Zealand marketplace?

Keeping a track of e-tickets when travellers change or cancel their flights is often critical for a business and also an onerous task. To save our clients time and money, we have developed an e-ticket tracker called “Sniff”, which is an automated system that “sniffs out” 100% of your company’s unused e-tickets for re-use at the next opportunity. Sniff removes the possibility of any human error, as an exclusively available Orbit IT innovation that is designed to save you both time and money.

ORCA – your invoice reconciliation and consolidation solution – ie. Pay Just One Bill!

Are you spending too much time reconciling your travel expenditure each month?

Orbit has the answer for you – consolidated invoicing. We have developed a consolidated invoice tool that will simplify things for your company and save your accounts team time and money.

Each month Orbit will send you one customised file. This will include all your company’s travel related costs that have been booked through us. Your invoice can be split by cost centre or business division as required to suit your company’s GL coding structure.

ORCA interfaces seamlessly with Orbit Online to provide streamlined booking and invoicing processes, to allow for a highly effective administrative procedure that also provides you with complete transparency around your accounting systems.

This report is another Orbit exclusive and is unique because it includes ALL flights, accommodation and rental car charges (including web based carriers) and is compatible with all major accounting systems in the marketplace.

Customised Management Reporting

ORCA also provides our clients with detailed, flexible and customised management reporting (monthly, quarterly, yearly) so you know exactly what your company is spending on travel – enabling you to modify traveller behaviour and purchasing patterns to maximise your savings.

Our main focus is to report on exceptions and to regularly provide your business with information that will assist you in reducing costs. Depending on your requirements, we can customise reports highlighting areas where the opportunity exists to reduce your travel spend.

Reports can be broken down by total spend, air and hotel, traveller, department, fares savings, unused e-tickets or any other specific requirements that you may have.

Duty of Care to travellers is now a legal requirement for all businesses, to ensure your travelling staff are well supported and have the most up-to-date information on hand at all times. As recent events will testify, no longer are risks isolated to any one part of the world, so at Orbit we have both our own traveller tracking systems and processes in place, 24/7 alongside specialist providers – Fear Free and International SOS.

Orbit’s working relationship with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFAT) is exceptionally strong and detailed processes are followed in the event of any major incident.

As soon as an event occurs, our Incident Management process is engaged, a Client Location Report identifies all affected (or potentially affected) travellers. We notify your company’s key contact by phone, email and text as well as contacting your travellers in conjunction with you.

Access your travel itinerary direct from your mobile phone – it’s fast and convenient!

With Amadeus CheckMyTrip Mobile Companion you can find out everything you need to know about your travel plans. Powered by Orbit’s technology partner Amadeus, this application only needs to be installed once to your mobile device.

Once you have installed this application on your mobile you can use it anytime you travel, anywhere in the world. Just enter your last name and booking reference (this is your 6 digit Reservation Number found on your Orbit itinerary) and download all your trip related information to your mobile. Your trip information will be saved and can be reviewed (in offline mode) by you at any time (no connection cost). Any change made whilst ‘on the road’ is immediately updated on your itinerary.

Bar-Coded Itineraries

Fast and easy check-ins

Orbit was the first travel management company in New Zealand to introduce bar-coding on all domestic itineraries for Air New Zealand travel. Bar-coding has allowed those travelling domestically to significantly reduce the time it takes to check-in.
