Beijing is an amazing place and I love it! There is so much to see and do there and it has a great mix of culture, history and a modern city. The people are friendly and the city has so much to offer.
I would highly recommend the following attractions to visit while in Beijing, being the essential stops for all travellers.
The Great Wall of China is an amazing and unique experience; it’s one you will remember forever! It’s not as easy as it looks but definitely worth it. Very good walking shoes and plenty of water is required but this is truly a great wonder of the world and should be on everyone’s bucket list.

The Forbidden City, Beijing
The Forbidden City is beautiful and a great insight in to Chinese history and architecture and is another impressive landmark to visit. The site itself is enormous and it actually is a city all on its own, you can easily spend days here exploring all the different areas. Tiananmen Square is also a great add on to do at the same time as it is located right next to the Forbidden City.
The Summer Palace is gorgeous and nestled in a beautiful garden setting approximately 20kms from the city. The palace contains ancient Chinese arts, beautiful landscapes and magnificent constructions. The site is located next to the Kunming Lake and the views over the water are just spectacular. This is another place where you can easily spend many days. It’s really peaceful and tranquil and walking around the palace is very relaxing especially on a nice day.
Beijing is a wonderful place to visit and has so much to offer to new visitors and repeat visitors; I could easily go back several times. I really enjoyed the city and the culture, the trip was unforgettable and definitely exceeded my expectations.
For groups…
China has a lot to offer groups and conferences and is a great city for events. There are several venues and hotels that specialise in large groups with large open spaces that are diverse and adaptable. Beijing is a great city that offers so many different attractions and activities and all are suitable for all ages. As a previous host of an Olympic games Beijing has a lot of experience with handling groups and facilitating events and are also able to provide some spectacular options for groups and conferences from dinner on the great wall to a personalised tour of the Olympic park or even a personalised cooking class. The local guides in Beijing provide exceptional service and can handle all arrangements for groups. They are very accommodating and can easily change arrangements to suit your groups requirements.
